I'm just Dreaming of the new KNK "whoppin'" machine!!!!
It’s a week ago today that school started. I’m still getting use to the quite house…. So quite!!! It seems like I was more productive when the girls were at home???? I managed to complete a couple of files and am awaiting their conversion to the new KNK format…. I know you will love them!!! Once they are converted I can put them up in the store… It’s always a good feeling when they go live!!!
Talking about the new machine which I have nick named the "whopping” machine since it does eVeRyThInG that we scrappers have ever dreamed of!!! With 2000 additional fonts ~ boy I could weld and design like crazy!!! It cuts chipboard, felt, heavy bazzill paper, light weight fabric, vinyl and more!! And cuts faster at a blazing speed of 24.5 inches per second!! Which my wishblade is lacking behind by cutting 3.9 inches per second… Just imagining the amount of files I could crank out!!!
I just keep dreaming of the day!!! Just takes a little longer with such a big family. I mean theirs milk to buy… clothes, shoes and school supplies it just doesn’t end… but it’s all good!!! I wouldn’t change it for the world!!
Today’s free file “My Class” title and caulk board!! It’s a great file for your back to school pages. Use the caulk board as a journaling block by writing your child’s goals for the year… Or write down your thoughts as your child goes off to school… however you chose to use it....... I would love love love to see!!!!!!!

Share your layout with us! The first one to do so will get their choice of one free file from me!!!
Don’t forget the sale, you can still purchase my back to school files at a 25% discount and finish many pages even a whole album…
Have a wonderful day!!!

Pencils
On sale at Paperthreads!!

This was such a fun file to create!!! You can leave the little grooved lines in the middle of the pencils or pull out the rectangles and layer with another color. Use some cute little pattern paper with a small floral print for a stylish set of pencils....
Hope to see what you come up with!!!!
Have a great day!!

two post in one day!!! Crocs
I just sent Michelle here, you know my friend who got me all caught up in this mess by sharing her album she made for her son coming home from Iraq.....
Anyway... I had this problem from the original file that I made... since I couldn't use the word "croc", Which could have gotten me in some type of legal trouble....
She suggested... to add... I love my shoes and These shoes rock!!!! Great Idea Michelle!!!!!
I will work on this tomorrow... still so exhausted from my vacation/retreat and my children are arriving home from school now....
Here's a picture of my original file... so what do you think?

Do you Love your crocs?

Have you got the croc craze? Are you crazy about your crocs? Do you own a pair or two or do you have several pairs?
Around here we only own two pairs of the classic style in pink and blue. I’m not just yet into the craze…truthfully I only wear them around the house!! I would never be caught in public wearing them… they just don’t have style!!! They are brightly colored, bulky and big and on a little person like me I feel like I should be dancing in Holland or something!!! And I have to admit I’m from the Midwest and we just take longer in accepting new things.
On the other hand my girlfriend, Michelle is pretty hip on the “new” tends and she’s the one I have to say that convinced me to purchase my first pair… it was all about comfort. Well she is right they are the most comfortable pair of shoes I’ve ever worn. Well other then the suede sandals my palomino pup chewed, but she can’t chew the crocs.
Michelle is the inspiration for me creating the croc die-cuts. I don’t know how we got on the subject of crocs. We were both at a wedding catching up with our summer vacations. Suddenly we were talking about crocs, maybe because she was sitting there all comfy in some pretty stylish sandals. Yes, they were crocs! And I was acing from my high-heeled shoes.
In Florida she said “everyone is wearing crocs and you see them in all colors and styles.” Well I knew she had a nice pair on but I had to look for myself, being from the “show-me-state”. So I goggled “crocs”, and found there were some awesome new looking crocs! I continued my search finding people who love their crocs and those that hate them. I even found a crocs fan club…and I think I’m going under a spell… the crock craze!!!!
Maybe, in a year or two us Midwesterners will all be spell bound by the craze… I can see it now… instead of doing the duck dance we’ll be “crock-in-around the clock” with the croc-a-dial rock until we croc till we drop…
Oh, boy! I think I’m going to “croc”!

Top 10 Reasons to wear Crocs
- Nothing is softer or more comforable
- They are hardly there (less than 6oz.)
- Air ventilation ports keep your feet cool
- Non-marking soles
- Resistant to bacteria and odor
- Ultra-hip, Italian styling with molded foot support
- Slip resistant
- Sterilized in water and bleach
- Easy to maintain
- Water and sand pass through air vents

Back pack
Back to school shopping~
Well it was a task but it's nearly done... back to school shopping! I spent over $150.00 on school supplies alone! Everyone got a new back pack, pens, pencils, folders, notebooks, and the list went on! Not to mention new clothes for everyone!
Today I'm giving away the back pack file. It's a perfect little embellishment for your pages!
You could do a page all about the shopping or the first day of school.
How about creating a layout of trying to fit all those supplies into one bag? Maybe you could scatter all the supplies that won't fit on a table next to the bulging back bag and get some great pictures!!!!
I would love to see what you have come up with and if you are the first to share your layout with me.... I'll let you choose anyone of my back to school files for free!!!
When submitting place "back pack" in the subject line.... and then I show case your layout on my blog!! If you are having trouble merging or stitching the scanned layout send it to me anyway... I can do it for you!
Don't forget today is the day to submit for the Creative Team call... I look forward to sharing my work with you and seeing what you can do with it!!!!
Have a great day!!

Good morning fellow scrappers, I’m back!
While there, I picked up two Encyclical letters from our new POPE Benedict XVI, “GOD IS LOVE” and “SACRAMENT OF CHARITY”, and began reading GOD IS LOVE. It’s already an amazing document!!! I’ve only had the chance to read through part I since I like to read to absorb all of it's richness that is written, it takes me longer to go through. And I'll probably have to read it several times!!! But, it is rich in expressing God love that he has continued to reach out over and over again to reveal that he is the source of Love and wants to live with in us all!
Back to school-
This morning I walked my children down to the bus stop they were excited to begin their new year!! But, I cried after putting my little Julie on the bus it’s so hard to let go!!!!
And my pre-teens along with their friend who is dropped off here were acting so crazy jumping up and down and screeching every once in a while they had me laughing so hard I didn't have time to get upset... I just realized I didn't take any pictures.... shame on me!! Well my camera isn't charged... just so much that has gone on since we got back!!!
You can find the "Back to School" title in the Paperthreads store soon.
For today my free file will be my “Back to School” title which will soon be in the store.... The file includes the knk extension for the new owners of the KNK element.
Creative team call- don’t forget the deadline is tomorrow night! I know there are so many talented people out there so let’s see your stuff and we can build a great team!!!!
Have a great day!

Gwen Coniker
The flower bouquet is now available in the Paperthreads store
Thank you!!!
One last free file before we head off to a full week at Catholic Familyland!
My rose file is being offered in honor of Gwen Coniker who passed away on June 15, 2002. She is the co-founder of the Apostolate for Family Consecration, before she left she told her husband Jerry Coniker that she would send a sign from heaven to those who ask for her intercession. A single red rose! You will receive more than the single rose since I ran out of time in converting files and I want the KNK users to get this too!
Her case for investigating her beatification was presented to Rome this past June 15th, if you are in need or know of a family who is in need of a miracle I have provided a link to download Gwens prayer card for her help!!! Asking for her intercession, if you receive a miracle I ask that you go to the link of Catholic Familyland that is on my blog and report it so it may go into the investigation.
I received a single red rose the year after she passed, it bloomed on my rose bush the morning I was leaving for Catholic familyland, my husband pointed it out as I was loading the car. I was distressed going knowing it would be hard there without her presence and this was tormenting me a week of depression is what I thought. I grabbed my camera and took a picture thinking that it was strange to have a single red rose bloom.
While participating in a meeting with the founder Mr. Coniker spoke of her death, how beautiful it was, how she accepted all of the suffering. He continued in his discussion that Gwen wanted to leave a sign, a single red rose to those she is helping. Tears flowed as I heard this and realized now the reason for that single red rose on my rose bush!
As I shared the story later with the Catholic core they came back with a book to document this small miracle I had received. When I got home I emailed them the picture... still strange to me that I even took that picture. I was so thankful that I went that year even though I thought it would be depressing since she was gone.. NO! The opposite their was more joy then ever before.... another gift left by Gwen. Mr. C also shared in that discussion how she left the spirit of trusting joy, since the day.
God is so good!
Miracles do happen!

1053.6 Miles to go
1053.6 miles to go-
I wanted to remember the night before we left for our big family vacation back in 2003. It was absolutely crazy and to journal this event was important! As we were packing and the boys came home from work we plugged in cell phones, digital cameras, our camcorder, had both washers and dryers going and the air conditioning running.
Suddenly, all the power went out, OVERLOAD!!! Everyone was like OH! NO! Then we heard a loud hissing noise and smelt gas. My husband pulled out the stove and their was a massive gas leak a hole the size of a nickle had broke through the fairly new coil. I wanted to get the kids out of the house... as we all got together to go out the door a storm hit right at that moment. Lightning was coming down all around us... I didn't know if it would be safer to go out or to stay in the house!!! I mean it would be like dashing through the lightning strikes.... Within minutes Scott had the gas turned off so we stayed in the house as he went off to the hardware store...
Soon the line was fixed but our power was still out and it didn't come on until the morning.. the storm knocked out the whole neighborhood!!!
Finally, around noon after catching up with the laundry and charging everything we left, heading for our big vacation. Sunny Florida here we come.. A week along the shores of Redington beach and a couple of days at Disney World!!! Now, as we drove thirty minutes into Illinois three tornadoes come out of the sky and headed towards home. It made us nervous but we were off and nothing was going to stop us!! The whole ride through Illinois and Tennessee we were next to storm chasers.. It was pretty awesome we had never seen real storm chasers, but we knew if we were that close to them something just might happen!!!! Eventually they turned off and we continued on our trip.... arriving safely!!
Journaling this event means much to us, since planning our vacation Scott would say "All I want is to see some great storms." We did!!! Before we left, as we drove and while along the coast from our condo. He actually caught three waterspouts on his camcorder coming our of the sky and recording people fleeing from the pier. We called Bay News 9 with the video footage they interviewed us, bought a copy of the tape and sent ten of us to the Florida Aquarium.
It was an event to remember!
When you don't have pictures of the event.... just journal it!!!

Neglected again
Hello my sweeties!
I'm once again sorry to have neglected you...
So much as gone on... All of my files have been converted to knk for those who are blessed enough to have the new element! Which I'm going to eventually get it sounds like a beast... I mean like it answers all the dreams we as scrappers would want in a machine so I have nick named it the whoppin machine!
And I have to tell you Jenette Carson: Butterflies Designs did all the conversions for me so I hope you will take a moment to visit her at the store... and look at her AWESOME work!
I worked on getting the files prepared for the store on Saturday night till 4:00 in the morning, figuring we would just go to late Mass....
I was woken at 8:00 Sunday morning, my granddaughter pictured in the pool with Jesse & Julie was camping and when her other grandfather spoke to his wifes in-laws he discovered that their mother (his daughter) had signed our little baby over to them temporarly for a year... with out any of us knowing it! We were told she was just camping for a week. They gave him two hours to visit, which he wanted me to come and witness what was going on... We had to be there by 10:00 and the drive was an hour away.... Lorelei our little Shirley Temple was almost motionless, she melted in my arms not saying a word.... and when they spoke to us about her, they just weren't chariable!!!! Well needless to say I've been emotionally upset!!!
We have had to go into battle and it's taken much energy... we are suppose to leave on our vacation Friday and I nearly canceled but everyone is saying to go.. and her grandpas promises by the time I get home she will be back with him. And he tells me since I'm going to such a prayerful place I would be better in the battle there.
So I'm just getting to pack for our vacation/retreat with very reserved thoughts... I was thinking what should I give my faithful seekers for a special file since you had to wait so long... since I never came back with my photo tips... actually I forgot the settings i used and realized many of us have different cameras so it would be a waste of time... and I know many of you want a file... so I'm going to give you my vacation file for the next twenty-four hours... How's that!! Now I can't promise to keep up with free files from now until I return August 12th. But I'm going to try... just depends on what else may happen???
The Vacation Time is KNK ready so enjoy!!

Try something new
One of my favorite layouts is "LIFE IS GOOD".
I love the way the layout turned out! It follows some simple rules for scrappers. By first drawing the eye to the picture and then to the elements finally the message.
I believe the border curve provided the focal point towards the photo. I love curves... and they are so easy to do!
I hope you will try this simple technique. I just use a piece of paper that I grab off my copier. Then lightly sketch a curved line, you could use a small lid from a bowl too. Either way I usually have to erase several times to get what I want.
Once I have the curve I place the template over my card stock move it around till I get the correct thickness of the border then I use paper clips to hold it in place. Just cut and your done! So easy!!!
I then trace that curve on a new sheet with a Sharpie and file it away for the next time.
Tomorrow I'll give you some tips on taking an action shot!
Enjoy the weekend!

I will always CHERISH the moments we share!
I’m working on a page using this little whimsical bench it reminds me so much of a special friendship, one that is lasting! Our old neighborhood and parish was so small that we knew everyone and everyone knew us. A particular couple Larry and Mary Alice, opened up their hearts to my family and others. It became tradition after trick or treating on Halloween to meet up with other families at their house. But when we moved it was hard to keep that tradition going.
In March I received a phone call that Larry was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, he was in his late stages. I was torn apart mainly because I aloud so much time to pass and wanted to visit, and I didn’t want to intrude with all my children. Then one Saturday in April my oldest daughter said she was taking the kids for the day. I decided this was the time to go.
On my way I thought about what I wanted to say..... Mainly.... THANK YOU… for your love! THANK YOU for your example but I was worried about being my sadness, I didn’t want to bring that there, I was going through so many emotions!

Available at the Paperthreads store

Summers fleeting! BOO HOO
I just love summer time! Swimming at the pool, going for walks outside, catching up with friends who've come in town... it's such a busy time!
But I did manage to work on some files and I'm so excited about these. The School files, I started with the School House album and from their just kept creating all kinds of fun titles and embellishments. Eventually I'll put it all in one big massive file for download, just in case you want it all!
Can you believe my children start school in three weeks? It's so unfair!!!! I feel like the summer is going bye too quickly!!! I'm trying to make time to enjoy it! And I hope you are too...
Now you want a file... RIGHT? I'm sorry I've neglected YOU! Please understand I'm just trying to make the most of our summer before it's over. So let's see what I can dig up for you.... Sound nice.... OH... I found something you've never seen before that's because it's being released in a Collection of Designer files .......... Since you've been so patient I'll give it away for the next twenty-four hours..... How's that?

I hope you like it! I named it Jubilee since Julie was born in the heart of the Jubilee year that was such a blessed year the year 2000.
And Julie is such a special little girl so I named the file after her.
My new files "Soon to be Released" are below. If you can't view them it's because you've upgraded your Internet Explorer browser. Try a different browser like I did.... Then you can have a sneak peak....
I'd love to hear from you!

YEE HAW!!!
I hope that you had the chance to download the free YEEHAW file, it is now back in the store.... The park has another planned event in late August, so I'm going to bring my camera! Have a nice weekend! Carrie
I can't help my self.... I wanted to share another file with you!
Last night we decided since the weather was absolutely perfect, that we would take the children to the park. As we turned in we heard music and cars were parked everywhere!!!
We found a place to park in front of the playground.... eventually we moved towards the music. They were playing country, rock and good old oldies.... Julie and I ended up dancing! I love, love to dance!!!!
We had a blast! Our last dance the electric slide... but I can't believe I forgot our camera... we did catch a couple of pictures with our cell phone... I think I'm going to still create a page of the event using my
YEE HAW title! We sure did a lot of Yee Hawing!

One day Jesse placed him in the compartment under his riding toy! So precious that he thinks he can play.. such innocence... I just want to hold on to these simple days.

Hi Carrie--Here is a layout I just finished using the Splish Splash file from
yesterday and the live, love, laugh file from the Paperthreads store.
I love both files!!! They cut great, even the thin lines in the live, love, laugh!
I do 12x12 layouts, but cannot scan the full layout at the same time, so here is two files.
Thanks for making such great files!!Nikki

Ok! I almost forgot! I'm laying in bed getting my children to sleep after giving them a long bath, where they soaked me with all the splish splash of the water. I decided I had enough of the day changed into my pj's and snuggled up with them. When all of the sudden I realized, I had made a promise to give you a free file today. So here it is! I hope you will enjoy the title splish splash, use it as a frame around your favorite picture. It can be used for several themes: bathtime, at the beach, swimming in a pool or a big splash from one of your favorite amusement parks! And if you have any more ideas, post them here.
Have a good night!

I know it's been five days since I've done some blogging! I've been sleeping alot! Still fighting this horrible cold/flu! I'm just not my self I've created two files and took on some new work, just can't get back into the swing of things. But I see that alot of you still are stopping bye. Thank you.
I also see that my sales are doing great! I appreciate it! I promise that by tomorrow night I will have a free totally new file for all of you who continue to come back! I'm very excited about the file that I have in mind! You will be able to use it for at least two to three different themes. Now I'm going to go work on it so I can keep my promise. Have a good evening!
