But I've run into a problem, some litte wee one around here kicked my dongle and it is being sent in for repairs. Basically, I'm stuck! I can't convert nor cut any files till the dongle arrives...with that being said I'm looking for some cutters who might want to help me in the mean time.
Do you have some spare time to cut? I'm currently looking for some temporary helpers who can cut my files. If you are interested let me know, you would need to be able to cut in .wpc, .gsd or .ai. Unless of course you can convert a file to .knk.
Scan the image or take a good picture and send that to me.
This is a great oppurtunity to recieve free files from me and be the first to preview what's coming out. Let me know if you are willing to help by emailing me at carrie_creations@paperthreads.com please provide at least two .jpg's of cut files, include in the subject of the email "willing to cut".
Thank you in advance for helping me out!
Have a great weekend!

get a free file...
Just enter the coupon code CS1108_26579 at check out.
Here's a real deal for you! For just $12.50 you can join my class on the forum and make your very own Thanksgiving Mini Album! This album was a hit last year! So many customers ended up making some for their friends and relatives.
Once you purchase the class you then will have access to the Carrie's Classroom. You can then work at your own pace. There are easy to follow instructions, files to create the cover, inserts and all the die-cuts in .ai, .gsd, .knk and .wpc formats. There is an easy to follow color chart for your papers and each file is color coded so you can slip one paper in to cut all that you will need in that color, this makes the creation process move much quicker. I also have included a list of supplies and the size of paper needed to cut your die-cuts.
You will find suggestions for cutting the cover and inserts. Once everything is cut you then can follow page by page how to assemble. Binding is a breeze! With the overlapping cover and back you can follow the instructions to add your ribbon. It's a beautiful album that I believe you will treasure!
Don't forget to get your free table setting cards by clicking on the link to the post below. Also, this month you can get 33 % off the Pumpkin Patch Super Pack and the Thanksgiving Mega Pack, just click on the images on my side board.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you for your support!

Michelle, also created this adorable Enchanted Castle album as a gift. I love how she turned it into an album by using the bind-it-all, which is also on sale.

Cheri did a fantastic job! It's always hard to find a good layout for when you have two photos. The pattern paper that she used is warm and wintery.

New files...and a big congratulations to Jessica!
Thank you ladies for taking the time to vote!
I think both of the ladies did a fantastic job! They took up the task and showed their talents! It was way to hard for me to decide so I'm thrilled that you helped me out! Jessica will receive all of my Halloween files...YEAH!
Sue and Jessica are coming aboard my CDT, which I am so excited to announce and ever more excited that they said YES! So keep watch these two will be showing you more of their work.
Also, Jessica submitted a layout for the Scrap-a-holics Anonymous contest, she WON!
Her layout will be on the front homepage all month long...
CONGRATULATIONS Jessica for creating such a fantastic layout!!!!
And here's the layout that she submitted...Isn't it fantastic!
New YUMMY files to wet your appetite!
Meet Alex the Alligator!
He's fun! Expressive and my newest edition!
This little guy was totally inspired by Sue! Who has been working hard creating the cutest alphabet book for her soon to be born grandson. If you happen to be a member of my Carrie's Creations Yahoo group you can see some of her pages in the folder she is sharing with the group. It's a must see!
So needless to say with Sue's great little book I will continue to create this adorable animals so you can build your own personal alphabet book. What a way to introduce reading to a young child!
Maple Leaf and acorn-
My favorite season growing up as a child was summer, but that has changed. I just love fall the cool evenings and warm sunny days. The colors of the changing leaves, the interesting seeds and nuts. One of our favorite activities is to walk through a thick wood and explore what has fallen to the ground. I love to see the excitement on a child's face when they open a big milk weed pod and see the seeds flooding away. You could say my inspiration to create this file came from some of those walks.
Here are some ideas for you to use with the die-cuts from this file. Decorate a fall page by filling a page with numerous leaves or use a couple at the edge of a photo. You could use them as the background for a fall title.
Try sending a fall card to cheer some one up. Window stickers they seem to be the rage any more, decorate your car or home with them. How about placing them on a bulletin board.
They are easy to cut with directions to help you to ink the edges so you will have some realistic fall leaves.
Girly Girl titles-
Girls girls girls!
That's what my house if full of! With four girls I had to made some girly-girl titles!
-
- fantastic
- Silly
- Dream
- Girly Girl
- daughter
- happy
- Creative
- Sunshine
- Super Star
-
-
- Titles can be place on just about any girly girl page! You can use several at a time like Unique daughter or Creative Sunshine or use them individually. I have placed some fun little images in there too! Like a couple stars, a dashed arrow, a cloud and sun.

Girly Girl: Fabulus Title
Every thing is Fabulus in the eyes of a young girl! It's not misspelled it's the hottest new verbiage from watching Sharpay! I WANT FABULUS and now you can have it. Decorate any young girls pages with this current trendy title.

Here they are…
Two submissions from the contest posted on my blog… If you have time please vote. It was brougnt to my attention that the contest was a little confusing...I'm so sorry if I made it hard to understand. When I asked for a 12 X 12 album, I really meant to say layout…and three files ...I meant to say three die-cuts…But the ladies who submitted read through my mistakes and I think they are both awesome layouts! Just for submitting they both get my Haunted Mansion Album. The winner from the poll will receive all of my Halloween files, which is pretty cool! The polling will run until Friday evening, so please vote! Now to place the poll and I hope I do it correctly! note: I have had many many problems getting picutes up on my blog. They just don't want to go where I want them. Please be patient with me as I resolve the issues. I have taken so many to share. Hopefully I will get this figured out soon
You will be voting for the best overall use of my files, clarity of photos, use of colors and originality.

We must vote...the stakes are high!

I suppose I am in shock over the "Good People" in America, as I drive through neighborhoods seeing signs in support of Obama.
My reason for supporting John McCain really has nothing to do with our economy, it has nothing to do with health care and nothing to do with the defense of our county. My vote comes with the deep conviction that if we don't defend the weakest in our society then it truly will fail. We have had enough warnings telling us to defend life. Once we understand this as a nation we will be richly blessed.
Senator Obama's character is important! It is the fact that we must rely on heavily! Yes there is a lot of controversy over his relationships and they are all very questionable. We do have a right to know of these relationships. But the one I'm most concerned with is his relationship with Planned Parenthood and the promise he has made over one fundamental issue. Which the news has not allowed you to see.
You can view his promise that he made to Planned Parenthood, the FIRST thing he will do as President of the United States.
You can view this here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0__ctD48nfQ&feature=related
What is the promise? He promises to take away ALL restrictions for abortion. No counseling would be offered to any women seeking an abortion, no parental permissions would be sought. And our tax dollars would pay for abortions over seas in other countries. One has to ask themselves WHY? This is a mult-trillion dollar industry so I suppose the stakes are high for those who profit.
Read what the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops say about FOCA , which is the bill that Obama has promised to make into law. http://www.usccb.org/prolife/issues/FOCA/FOCA_FactSheet08.pdf
NO matter what one believes we can not stand for this action. It is the greatest evil of our time and we must heed the warnings, which I leave below.
It is said that when the Holy Father leaves a country his last message is the most important! Both Popes, Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict before departing America left the following message.
Pope John Paul II:
"America you are beautiful . . . and blessed . . . . The ultimate test of your greatness is the way you treat every human being, but especially the weakest and most defenseless. If you want equal justice for all and true freedom and lasting peace, then America, defend life."
Pope Benedict:
"Use your freedoms wisely." as he closed out his first papal trip to the United States.
He repeated a core message of his six-day pilgrimage — that faith must play a role in public life, citing the need to oppose abortion.
The unwavering truth of the Roman Catholic message, he said, guarantees respect for the dignity of all, "including the most defenseless of all human beings, the unborn child in the mother's womb."
And most recently left by Archbishop Raymond L. Burke
ROME (CNS)—The Democratic Party in the United States "risks transforming itself definitively into a ‘party of death,’" said U.S. Archbishop Raymond L. Burke, prefect of the Vatican’s highest court.
We should not take these statements lightly they are fundamental truths that should be yelled from the roof tops!
I have placed a link on the left of my page above Senator McCain's support for you to join the many of us who will be praying for this country. I hope you will join us in this prayer to thank God for the blessings we have had here in America, that is our Freedom! We must not enter into the Culture of Death any longer. HOW WILL WE EVER EXPLAIN THIS TO OUR CHILDREN or for that matter, when we die HOW WILL WE EVER EXPLAIN OUR VOTE TO OUR JUDGE?
God bless us & God forgive us!

Store and Forum are good to GO!
I was hoping to get this news to you last night but had cheerleaders here making a break through banner for the football game today. It turned out really nice and I hope to get you some pictures.
Jennifer and I are now preparing for a Mother/Daughter luncheon with the wonderful host from Pure Fashion. We will be at a very exclusive restaurant which over looks the Arch. A professional will be teaching us etiquette, and if you ever ate with Jennifer you would understand why this event is very important!!! Scott has often said if she doesn't clean up her eating habits we will never marry her off. I'm very excited to go it's been a busy few weeks and I'm looking forward to the afternoon away with some wonderful like minded ladies and their daughters.
Hope to get some great pictures too!
Have a great weekend!

The Paperthreads store and forum
If you happened to log into the Paperthreads store or the forum last night or this morning, you may have noticed that they are not there! That’s because someone has hacked the server. Michelle is aware of the problem and has made it know to the designers that getting them back is going to take some time, like 48 hours or so, not days. She is being very careful to save what can be saved and this is why it will take some time. We thank you for your understanding and hope to have see the forum and store back soon.
In the mean time let's get a contest going!!!
The first three submissions will receive my Haunted Mansion Album. The winner of the layout will receive ALL of my Halloween files that I have created so far.
So here are the details:
Create a 12 X 12 album using three of my files. You get to have the choice of what files you want to use and how you want to use them. You can use any theme that you would like.
Once I receive the files I will place them on my blog for you to see, I will then place a poll on my blog for viewers to vote for the best layout created. You will have until midnight Friday, October 24th to submit your layouts. Over the weekend I will have time to get them on my blog. On Monday, October 27th I will then place a poll for you to vote.
When voting I would like you to vote according to the best overall use of my files. Clarity of photos, use of colors and origanility. This layout must be new, you can not use a layout that you have posted in the Paperthreads gallery or any other online gallery before.
If for some reason we have a tie, I will then have my family and other designers help in judging. So that we will have a fair and balanced vote!
I hope to see your creations!

oh no I forgot my witchy poo who had a boo boo...
My Witchy Poo who had a Boo Boo- i totally forgot to put her up yesterday!
As i was thinking about Halloween and trick or treating with all the decorations out there i remembered when Katie, Jason and Brian where young. Our old neighborhood was wonderful everyone knew each other. It was a small community where almost everyone attended the same Parish. Well there was one house that we really enjoyed because they always out did themselves decorating. Our favorite decoration was the witch who had slammed into the tree! So i decided this would make a wonderful die-cut for our memories!
When I finished with her design called Katie down and showed her. The first thing she said was remember mom the house we use to go to with all the decorations! In our old neighborhood, gosh those days where so much fun! I smiled, knowing I accomplished my goal! To help her remember the special times we had. It is my hopes that you too will find a spark of memories with my files that is what I set out to acheive!HaPpY ScRaPpiNg!
Carrie
PS- You can get this file this weekend for free in my Carrie's Creations Group, if you don't belong please sign up soon so you don't miss out on my free files! BTW- I'm having to labor when signing off my I belive I over worked my shift+P, IT WON'T WORK! So I find that the only way now to do it is to hit my capital P...i guess i should just copy and paste but that seems like I'm not putting all of me into it! OK...have a great weekend everyone!

Guess who's Birthday it is?
Do you know who was born this day? October 3th? Let me give you a hint she is the one who brought us all together! The reason why you are here at my web page. Maybe you know her, most of you do!
Another hint: She started this whole thing from sharing a simple idea to help others learn to cut and design with their machines. Can you guess? It's Michelle Hessler, owner and designer of Paperthreads!
Yep, that's right it's her birthday and we are going to CeLeBrAtE this weekend!
With lots of sales! Check them out almost everyone is having a sale!
You can check which day and how much savings you can get by clicking the link above.
All sales end at 11:59 PM EST on the last posted date!
All my files will be 50 % off from Friday through Sunday.
Wondering if I have any new files? Well thank goodness I got them in today and they were loaded to the store so you can enjoy them at a deep discount. I was able to get eight finished and ready for the store. I hope you like them!
Haunted Mansion Album
You will have so much fun filling the pages of this album! It can be customized to fit your needs!
As seen in the image you can fit many photos with using the large oval or you could use just the Haunted Mansion by cutting the cover several times to make pages. It's totally up to you. If you like the smaller size you but would like more room you can cut just the outline of the Mansion and use them as filler pages. How ever you do it you will have your own special customized album with using some great designs!
Any of the NEW files below can be used in the album...
And of course if you have some of my last year files you can add any of the die-cuts or titles too!
Now where can you all this to create your very own album? And it's all on 50 % off this weekend
I have more I just ran out of time which here lately is so hard to find. Watch over the next week for some really awesome elements that you can add to your album.
Have a great weekend!

happenings....
Jennifer and Kristen are now cheerleaders for the 7th and 8th grade football teams...we have practices once maybe twice a week with each saturday being the game day.
Julie joined Brownies and is so excited that mom will be attending some of the functions like camping. It will be our special time together she says.
The girls have also enrolled in our PSR program where they will learn more about our Catholic Faith. With Jennifer receiving the sacrament of Confirmation in May!
Our biggest and most exciting news!
Jennifer applied for and was accepted into the 2008-2009 Pure Fashion Show.
Yesterday we attended her first gathering where we heard from Leah Darrow a contestant from the third episode of America's Top Model. It was an ispiring meeting where I have to admit they made more cry more then once. And I just thought it would be an informative meeting. It truley is a movement of the spirit.
The girls were seperated into teams where they where able to meet the top models in a more personal matter. The mother's heard from the volunteers and a mother who witnessed the transformation of her own daughter who attended last year. More tears flowed!
When we were reunited they had a fashion show for us! The fashions... designs the girls made using a roll of toilet paper. It was so adorable and you could already see how the girls where already confortable with in there team.
From the meeting Jennifer and I met up with the rest of the family at our old parish. It was like a family reunion! Septemberfest where the kids ran around with friends and cousins. And the fest ended with a wonderful fireworks display.
Yes we do have a full schedule this year! But it's all good things and I'll have lots of pictures to share...that is if I can remember to bring my camera!
Want to be a part of my team?
Read my previous post...
Have a blessed Sunday!

An attempt to contact
My browsers over the weekend has been hijacked??? Have you ever had such a thing happen? I'm a bit frustrated with those who spend their precious time that we have on this earth, creating havoc for others! My advice to them have more children! Then they wouldn't have so much time on their hands!! Well I can say that since I have experience in knowing the truth of that statement!!!!
I'm trying to see if using my Windows Live Writer will post to my blog, hopefully so. As I am typing I am getting ads that open automatically.
Just to let you know, since a customer contacted me . I do plan on getting back to my designs and incorporating the suggestions from the survey as soon as I get over my computer problems.
I was sick for over two weeks. Then the older girls and I had a prior commitment to volunteer at Catholic Familyland over the weekend. Also, we are working to have our granddaughter placed on our care. So there has been much going on and now my greatest challenge to get rid of the problem of my browsers.
Once I'm back in business I think you will all be thrilled with some of my newest creations that I was able to pull together in the midst of everything going on.
Talk with you real soon!

Hot off the cutter...
You asked for it! And now you get a sneak peek of of the files that I finished this week .
Inspired by a billboard as I was driving down the highway I loved the look of the football player breaking through the board. I decided to give it a try myself.
After making this guy and test cutting with tweaks I began to play, which I have to say is the funniest part of what I do.
The images in the store packaging was made by cutting out white paper and inking with a blue and brown ink. The picture to the right is from laying the die-cut on a white piece of paper. While I was inking I was also masking. I just love these two techniques!
The next two images where created from the first white die-cut. Once cut, I placed it on a royal blue background. Then I masked it on another blue card stock. The results are striking! It's amazing how colors, ink and the use of two different techniques you can get such a range in looks.
I hope you will try these two techniques more often on your pages. It doubles the use of your purchase which is a good thing. Use the mask to create background papers by using a lighter pressure as you ink.
This file was totally inspired by the project I am working on. Which is a gift I am making for my foster parents anniversary. They took three trips with Wandering Wheels, one along Lake Erie, another Lake Heron and the last trip from Cocoa Beach to the Key
West. Along the way they took hundreds of pictures. Mom purchased three large frames to hang on her wall. When she asked if I could help I offered to do it as a gift for their anniversary.
So far I've created the bike and want to cut it to use as a stamp for the background. I cropped all the pictures from one trip and have an idea of how I will lay them out. This weekend I'm on a search for some paper to fill the frame. I think I will have to go to a specialty art shop for that! I'm hoping to get you some pictures soon so you can follow along.
Have a great weekend!

Six techniques to try...
Next time you use a die-cut why don't you try something new? Sometimes just playing around you can get different results.
I have taken one element from my Apple Picking file. The tree, to give you six different techniques with six different looks and uses.
Heat embossing Inking the edges
Add a word Sand with sandpaper
Patten paper Masking
Each method took only a few minutes to create. I even had a little helper, Julie. As she watched me cut out the trees she asked is there anything I can do? Why "YES, you can ink a tree for me." Before I knew it she had the pattern paper tree done. "What next mommy?" Quickly I pulled out some chipboard letters and told her that I needed them inked in fall colors. Julie continued helping me until clean up time. But that's ok we still spent some quality time together catching up on our day.
SO YOU WANT A CHALLENGE?
Three die-cuts from the Apple Picking file; the tree, apples and basket will be left for you to download in my yahoo group.
All you have to do is create something with them. You don't have to use all three, you can use just one or all, it's up to you. Create a card, home decor or use them on a layout to share with us.
You could also share a new technique.
Either way use the file> share your creation and you can receive the Apple Picking file for doing so.
Just upload your unique creation to the Gallery and send me a link through my email. Everyone who shares gets the file.

Thank you!
First of all I must thank EvErYoNe who took advantage of my sales over the holiday weekend!
It looks like I did very well with the 50 % off sales. Which always encourages me to continue designing files for you!
I hope all of you had a safe and enjoyable three day weekend! It is always sad to say good bye summer! Our weekend was mostly spent at home. I was still recovering from the summer cold I caught a week or so ago. It was a bit frustrating since we had talked about spending the last weekend at the lake or swimming before the pools close. But to get ready for a weekend like that was just to much!
We did get out on Sunday to a going away party for our second cousin, she leaves this Wednesday for a year of college in Jerusalem!!! Scott and I recently watched a program all about Jerusalem on PBS it is so beautiful there! So needless to say we were very excited to see her a few days before she leaves for such a wondrous adventure! I told her to take lots of pictures so we can make her an album! I would love to see where King David lived and the birth place of Christ and the place where Moses parted the Red Sea, wouldn't you just love to go? How blessed she is to have this opportunity!
I also want to thank all of you who took the time to fill out my survey! The information that I received will help me tremendously to focus my attention on what you want! You have given me direction by providing enough suggestions, ideas and encouragement to help me make the best of my post on my blog and in my Yahoo group.
When the first few survey's came in I became motivated to clean up my scrap room!!! So I can get creative with some layouts and ideas on what you can do with my files. I ended up spending hours looking through old photos from the last twenty five years. It was fun and I was inspired with an idea to show you some photos from my "Blast from the Past". I think it will be fun!
One set of photos I found from my twenties when my sister-in-law called me. She was invited to be on the Phil Donhue show and asked me to come. We left the following evening, flew into New York and came home seventy-two hours later. I just love the fact that we did something so crazy! Watch for the photos soon, I need to scan them and get them prepared for the blog.
Another set of photos I thought were pretty exciting was when my sister called to tell me that her son was to carry the Olympic torch, I grabbed my camera and took some great pictures. This was like twelve to sixteen years ago, I'll have to pay attention to the year as it is filed but he's a grown man now!
Well that's just a few of the things that I will be improving on as you will soon see! If you have any more comments or ideas feel free to contact me! I'm not sure if you are interested in digi-scrapping that wasn't on the survey but I have been reading up on it so if you want information on it as I learn I can pass that along too! AND one more thing...I'll be going through and learning more about photoshop if you are interested let me know so I can give you some tips.
I did say one more thing didn't I? Well I almost forgot to show you my newest creation.
It is not in the store yet but many of you have asked to see a preview.
I created this file for one of my cutters who does such a fantastic job! She told me last week that she was going to VEGAS. I then mentioned that I should get her some files that she can use and she suggested the Welcome to Las Vegas Nevada sign. I surprised her the file a day before she left and when she returned she cut it to look like this. I just love it when she cuts my files!
Have a wonderful evening!
